The STV Prestonfield ProAm was held on
18th July 2008
 
This high profile occasion was fully supported by the Scottish PGA and many of the top Scottish PGA professionals participated.
This years Pro Am built on the success of last years event and proved to be an even better day than last year. Teams were up by two to 34, and the Sick Kids raffle pulled in much more revenue than previously, helped by a large donation from the social committee.
All players raved about the condition of the course, and seemed to enjoy their day.
The fantastic sum of £3158 was presened to the Sick Kids charity, our thanks to all who participated or gave their time so willingly to make it an excellent day.

Prestonfield Golf Club is centrally located in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland,
and one of Europe's leading tourist destinations Edinburgh is also a UNESCO World
Heritage Site.

James Braid, one of the most famous names in golf, created the present
layout. The course is a testing par 70 of 6207 yards whose two par
5s are very long but its par 3's quite short by today's standards.
The character lies in the amount of long testing par 4's that can vary
greatly depending on wind direction and strength.
It is set in beautiful parkland within the heart of Scotland's
capital city, and is located a mere one and a half miles from the bustle
of Princes Street.
It lies beneath the volcanic mass of Arthurs
Seat amidst spectacular scenery of significant historic importance. It is
bound by Holyrood Park
and the bird sanctuary of Duddingston Loch to
the north, the Braid Burn and Peffermill
Mansion House to the east, and the grounds of Prestonfield House to the
south. Prestonfield is an easy to walk golf course which is playable all
year round and Visitors, Societies and Corporate Parties are always
welcome.
