ETIQUETTE

Welcome to Prestonfield Golf Club

I hope you enjoy your game here at Prestonfield and also I hope you enjoy all the other facilities that we offer you.

When you are on the course please observe the following etiquette:

Slow play is a pain - please ensure that you keep up with the game immediately in front of you, otherwise please ensure that you maintain the following speed of play:

First 3 holes 35 mins Fourth 3 holes 35 mins
Second 3 holes 40 mins Fifth 3 holes 30 mins
Third 3 holes 30 mins Last 3 holes 40 mins
First nine holes 1 hour 45 mins Second nine holes 1 hour 45 mins
Total for your round should therefore be no longer than 3 hours 30 minutes

It is your responsibility to keep up with the game immediately in front of you. If you lose a clear hole and you are delaying the game immediately behind you, you must invite the game behind to play through, irrespective of the number of players in that game.

Please be ready to play as soon as it is your turn to play. When you are playing on or near the putting green you should leave your bag or cart in such a position as will enable quick departure from the putting green to the next tee. When the play of the hole has completed you should immediately leave the putting green.

If you believe your ball may be lost outside a water hazard or is out of bounds, to save time, you should play a provisional ball. When searching for a ball you must signal the players in the game immediately behind you to play through as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball will not be easily found. You must not wait for five minutes before doing so

Please leave all bunkers properly smoothed over with a rake or your club if a rake is not available.

Please ensure that you repair any divots taken by you carefully and also ensure that you repair any damage caused by your ball landing on a putting green. Damage caused by walking on a putting green should be repaired on leaving the putting green.
